All images have been removed from this post due to a confusion of use of images - of a place & of a person - Ownership and Rights - Of - Self - Of - Place .
Boxes strewn in a chaos that precedes a finite order that I a yearn for - an image of wood and trees dominate as I unearth, reorder, repack and hope to see something other than the accumulation of past boxed stored scattered within the frame of a place called art.
The disorder is as essential as the order and it was interesting to invite photographer Steve Iles into the maelstrom of disfigurement that presently precedes the order that is being orchestrated at art.
Steve has arrived into art in order to engage in a creative discourse with space and place.
Capture an essence of this place called art.
A studio. A living archive. Work Space. Safe Space. Art Space.
There are a multiple series of metaphorical drawing boards, ideas, planning, searches for homes for possibilities of performance, interventions, actions, hope.
There are numerous conversations ongoing, going in circles of strategic shifts, toing and froing, back and forth, moved one step forwards two steps back.
Breath held but with a need to breath.
Mechanical Air is humming into a reality. I am gathering the mechanics, projectors, slide and 16mm waiting to be switched on and triggered into action.
There is a rise of the right like bile in the throat waiting to spew forth vomit projected forth.
We have been warned and even though uniforms are not being worn, the intolerance of hatred is apparent and all that is needed is a galvanising figure to come forth and all hell will break forth, as people are searching for liberation of any kind and if this means intimidating, bullying and destroying other people then people will find liberation in hell.
But is this life at art?
No.
Art responds to the needs of government institution, not to the strategies of public policy but to the time of our lives.
Listen to the heart beat of Now.
What do you hear
and
What do we need?
Hope, Curiosity, Beauty, Existence, Transformation, seem the order of the day, challenging the vile hate that is presently stalking through our societies, searching for someone to blame.
Let art transform.
Thanks to . . . . . . . for engaging and painting with light.
