Five ladies; flow, force, freedom, fun, facilitation, finding, found, fear, fine food…'
A quote and a response of one of the five woman who attended
The Body as Art.
An image of a bag of blood given during the week.
It was an exchange that enabled people to move forwards with their understanding and their knowledge of their own bodies and their own methods of engaging with the body to generate an idea that could be art.
It was a week that was challenging as information being exchanged was immense. It was amazing what people don't know what their bodies are and that we are seemingly separated from ourselves.
Everyday day was like 2 days and we realised that actually we could engage with this process for a for a much longer period and that The Body as Art as a week long process only scratched the surface of the potential of understanding the body and putting the received knowledge and skills into performance and art practice.
I am in the process along with the other participants of this exchange, writing up more text that will be held on this site, along with documentation of the exchange process and the practical performative outcomes.
made in art will be holding more exchange programmes as there is true potential and worth in doing this.
